Is this a rebound? What do i do?Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: My girlfriend of over 5 years broke up with me 2 months ago (we are 20). We had a great relationship, everyone that saw us thought we were so happy, and so did I. The break up came out of nowhere. She never gave me a reason, and after 5 years i think we should talk about it. We talked for the first 2 weeks after we broke up, still kissing and saying i love you. After that two weeks she started dating another guy that she meet in class just a month before all this. They said i love you on their first date, and in the first week got each others initials tattooed on their ankles. They are rushing things way too fast, is it a rebound? She now wont talk to me at all, and doesnt talk to a lot of friends that she used to. I thought the break up might be because im in college 2 hours away, but this new guy lives an hour and 15 min. away. In one week i will be home for the summer, just 5 min. away from her. She is with him all the time. I just want to know should i forget about things, even though she was my first true love. Does she just need time to make some mistakes and realize what we had? Do you think it will help this summer being close to her? I really just need some advice. It is hard losing the one you love and your bestfriend at the same time. Will she not talk to me becuase she doesnt want the feelings to come back that it seems she is trying to hide? Please just some helpful advice would be good. Our Suggestion: Assuming that she will not be near her new boyfriend this summer, there is a good chance that she will find her way back to you. Try your best to keep in contact with her... even if it is just to ask her how she is doing. Be upbeat and don't dwell on the past. Come the summer, ask her if she will go out for lunch "as friends." If anything is going to develop, it will. Keep in mind that she has a boyfriend and you should not push her or make her feel uncomfortable. Good luck!
