Visitor's Question: Ok well me and my girlfriend have been dating for 4 months now.I am her first true love she tells me.I took her virginity and have been her first for many things.She tells me she loves me and she is in love with me all the time.She also tells me that she would not ever do anything to hurt me. And she knows when mear flirting can go to far.Well on one side i feel like she is telling the truth and she would not hurt me or betray me,But on the other hand i have been heartbroken so many other times before that i feel like it is just going to happen again.It is to the point where i dont want her talking to any guys or having guy friends, Or even staying all night with her girlfriends because of the fear that her friend will have guys over and things like that.I always have the constint fear that she is going to find another partner better then me.But she always reassures me that i am everything she wants and needs.Its just very hard for me to beleave that.I dont know how to keep that jealous feeling of her being her friends , or having guy friends and talking to them.I know my jealousy will eventually tear us apart and i want to keep that from happening.I love her and am in love with her to much for that to happen..PLEASE help me .. Our Suggestion: Yes, unless you do something about it, jealousy will tear you apart. For a relationship to work, it needs communications, trust, and affection. Your problem is with trust. You've got to get your jealousy under control. One way to do this is to fight against jealous thoughts when they arise. Tell the thoughts to go away and leave you alone because your girlfriend loves you. Do this 100 times and the bad thoughts should give up the fight and leave. Another way is to build up trust.
