Visitor's Question: Ok well i just moved to a new school and my first day of p.e. i saw this one girl i just knew i wanted to ast out then and there but because of some incidents in my life i clam up when it comes to meeting knew people. so i want to know how would i start and run though the conversation and when sould i approah her to start talking? Our Suggestion: Many, many people clam up when they meet new people. This is something everyone has to deal with to one extent or the other. Often the person you are trying to talk with has the same clamming up problem so the two of you sit there like clams. First thing you should do is find out her name and then greet her everytime you see her by looking her in the eyes, saying in a clear voice "Hi" plus her name, and give her a big smile. This can soon be expanded into a short conversation. Talking with someone can be easy if they are good talkers... just take an interest in them and they will carry the ball. Ask people about their classes, school activities, hobbies, music, parents, friends, siblings, vacation plans or whatever. Start developing these skills as soon as possible because it will make your life easier. And don't put this off or some other guy will get her. Good luck!
