Our Suggestion: You need to tell him the truth but in a nice way. Tell him how much you admire him as a person and that you have enjoyed being with him for several years. But that things change and you are no longer feeling connected with him the way you used to. Give him time to find a new place to live so the break won't be so hurtful. In fact be very active in helping him find a new place and helping him move out. Promise him you will still be his friend and that you still care for him.
