PreparationSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Hi. I'm 17 years old and I think I'm ready to lose my virginity. I really feel I love this guy and he loves me and I really believe I'm ready. My only question is that I know there will be some physical discomfort but is there anything I can do to prepare myself for the physical pain of becoming intimate with my boyfriend? Basically, is there any way to ease the pain of first time intrcourse? Is there anything one can do to prevent it from hurting as much or even actually insuring that it will take to my body if you know what I mean? Please help. Thank you. Our Suggestion: Take your finger or fingers and probe into your vagina. If you feel an obstruction that is somewhat elastic that is your hymen. Try to stretch it or, ideally, break it. That is what cause the pain of first time intercourse. You may be lucky and have already broken your hymen by sports, bicycle, or horse riding. Some girls break their hymens by use of tampons. However, there are cases where the hymen is so hard and tight that only a doctor can break it by cutting it under anesthesia. This is rare, but keep it in mind. Make sure that you and your partner spend plenty of time getting you aroused so that you are ready and eager for intercourse. Try to find a pleasant place for this first time, and bring a towel in case you bleed some. Use a condom. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
