all hope in vain?Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I've met this guy 4 years ago during a music course.Due to fortunate circumstances I got a place at the same college as him and we became friends. He found out that I liked him but he was going out with a friend of mine. I was sure he didn't like me back then, so I told him my feelings had wanished, which was a lie. I had even convinced myself of this lie,so it didn't shock me when two weeks later he broke up with his girlfriend and came together with an other girl a week after that...I kept up the comedy for 1.5 years and we became best friens. He never guessed anything, he just became extra friendly when I seemed interested in an other guy (he would hug me more often and try to catch my eyes as soon as I entered a room).I knew he would be leaving the college at the end of the year so I finally wanted to know if he liked me or not. I started giving of "positive" signs with the result that he coulden't talk to me without stuttering, going red or dropping something.I decided to confess my feelings even with the knowledge that he had a gf.I did so but before he could give an answer we were interrupted by the arrival of his gf.He told me to call him later.10 minutes later I received a sms from him telling me that he was sorry but that I was just a friend. After this day we coldn't look each other straight in the eyes anymore and I knew he was as embarassed as I was. He has left to study in a different country and he didn't even say goodbye...I think I messed up sereously but is it very foolish to think that there might still be a chance? Our Suggestion: You met this guy four years ago. After all that time you told him you cared for him and his reply was that you are only a friend. He has a girlfriend. He left for a foreign country and didn't even say goodbye to you. You should be able to draw the conclusion that his relationship is going nowhere. Forget about him and find someone new who will care for you. This will make you feel better and give you a better life. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
