Jealousy Turned BadSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Ok, my girlfriend and I have been together since our freshman year in college. We are now first semester juniors. She cheated on me the summer of our freshman year and i didn't find out about it until 9 months after it happened. We are still together but I am having trouble trusting her again. She wants to keep this whole thing a secret but when my friends accuse me of being controlling when I am only trying to make sure that it won't happen again I get frustrated. I accidentaly let it slip to some of our friends that she had cheated after we had a fight. She doesn't know yet, but I am not sure how to tell her. I am very jealous now and am starting counseling for my trust issues. Can our relationship be saved and if so then what do I do about telling my friends and is it ok to be jealous? Our Suggestion: Listen to your counselor and work to lessen your jealousy. Jealousy can destroy a relationship and it hurts like hell. Fight against it as hard as you can. Whenever it pokes its head up, knock it down and tell it to go away and not come back. Pretty soon the jealousy will give up the fight and let you alone. Jealousy is natural but can be beaten. You made a big mistake when you let it slip to your friends. You need to tell her asap what you did. Don't put this off. Your relationship can be saved if you both are committed to make it happen.
