What to do about jealousy?Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: In all of the questions I have read on your site, you never answer the question of steps to take to deal and get over jealousy. We all know what it is and that trust is an essential element in a relationship. But how do we get over being jealous? What are the steps? How do we get over our insecurites? Our Suggestion: To do what you want to do, your best bet is to see a professional counselor. Jealousy and insecurity are difficult to treat. Hopefully you did read my recommended websit on trust because understand trust will be very helpful. If you didn't here it is: http://www.coping.org/growth/trust.htm Also there are over 2 million hits on a Google of "getting over jealousy" It is unlikely that a brief answer from me will help you over this terrible curse. Here's what I recommend, though. First off, think of jealous thoughts as a mortal enemy. Whenever you get a jealous thought or feeling tell it in no uncertain terms to go away and stop bothering you and that you are not going to listen anymore. Tell them that your loved one loves you and would never hurt you. After 100 times of doing this, the jealousy may give up. Sometimes it takes more than 100 times. Good luck!
