Really messy Jealousy QuestionSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Hello. I am a 21-year-old college student. About a year ago, I started hanging out with this great girl. Really smart, funny, we connect with each other in a lot of ways. A month later before I ask her the dating question, she already is dating someone else. Naturally, I tell myself that jealousy won't get me anywhere so while I am naturally envious of her boyfriend, I for the most part bottled up my frustration until in private. I was OK for the most part until a friend of this girl found out and told her I like her. Her boyfriend found out as did she. The problem is she really likes him, yet he is hostile towards me. A previous situation occured between the two when a friend of her's tried hitting on her, thus promping a fight between the boyfriend and aspiring new boyfriend, such that the boyfriend doesn't want the girl speaking with him. She told me he is jealous in such a manner, then proceeded to ask what I would do if he were to say we couldn't hang out. What do I do? Do I just attempt to be a friend? Do I attempt to confront the boyfriend on his jealousy? How do I manage my own jealousy? Our Suggestion: It's easy to say but harder to do... Drop any thought of her for the time being. If you discover, in the future, that she is without a b/f then you can step back into the situation. She knows you like her so there is no problem with that. Good luck!
