Breaking the ice with a girl that I don't get many chances to talk toSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Yeah, this is one of those questions that you probably get a lot of, but here goes. Well, I am an 18 year old senior in high school, and I have a bit of a crush on a junior. She is in my chemistry class, and my gym class. In Chem, I don't get much of a chance of even saying hi to her. In Gym, it is almost the same thing, except that once and a while she will actually comment on me. I mean, say I caught the ball, and made an out playing whiffle ball or something of that sort, she will say something like "Good job," or if I don't do so well, I get a "nice try." That probably doesn't mean much though, because a couple of other people say the same things to me, but it is a start, I guess. Once and a while I will pass her in the hallway, and sometimes we make eye contact, but not much else happens. I haven't even said "hi" yet. I am not sure what to do, and I have just about, no experience with girls. I really would like to know how I can "break the ice," I guess you can say. The only advice I have gotten so far, is to just comment on her during gym. I could start voicing a hi when we make eye contact in the halls, but I don't know if that will help me get closer to her, to have a conversation with her... Any advice you can give me will be a great help. Our Suggestion: You are on the right track. First off, start saying things to her during gym. Like she does for you. Say, nice play or nice try when she has a play on the ball. Stand near her if you can. She probably likes you at least a little based on what you said. The next thing you can do is to start greeting her in the hall. Look her in both eyes, say in a clear voice "hi" plus her name, and then give her a big smile. She will be delighted. Everyone likes to be recognized like that. Simple things like this will make a great difference in a relationship. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
