Insecurity...? Maybe obsession??Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Well, to start off, I'm a 14 year old female on summer vacation. My boyfriend and I haven't seen each other for a few weeks due to our lack of available days. We have kept in contact--which is good, and I've been pretty satisfied with. But, recently we've been trying to go out to the movies together, and the whole weekend was unavailable. [We tried Friday, nope. Saturday, nope. Sunday, nope.] And last night, I just cried my eyes out when I read a text he sent me. I had known that his parents invited one of the family friends over to see a movie, with them, before we made plans. Yes, it was disappointing, but when my boyfriend sent me a text saying he was sorry about all our failed plans, I had start bawling. And this happens whenever plans with each other don't work...I bawl. Or if I can't talk to him for several days, I become very dull and passive. What could this be?? Our Suggestion: You are suffering from separation from your BF. It isn't easy to deal with this situation. Perhaps when you are feeling like crying, you should think very hard about him and count off the good things that you love about him. And, think of how you know he loves you and how sad he would be to know you are crying. Then try writing him a letter explaining how you feel... even if you don't give it to him it may help you get over the very bad feelings. And think of other fun things you will be able to do when the time comes. Think up ideas of special things to do like a picnic or bowling or just hanging out. Part of the problem, of course, is teenage hormones which make your emotions peak and ebb... very high or very low. Take good care of yourself and eat well, drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep, and find ways to entertain yourself. All these will help. Good luck!
