Visitor's Question: Alright, so I'm 17 and I'm friends with a guy at school who I used to talk to a while back...but haven't in a while and then a couple months ago he started talking to me a lot again, as well as my friends. So anyway, he's out of town right now and a day or 2 after he left he sent me an email, and we've been sending back and forth frequently while hes been away. His last email however, was filled with this feeling of hopelessness and that he's a screw up in relationships and how no one will want to marry him etc. He hinted at going away together at some point and then asked if I would be his valentine... I know this probably means he likes me, but I can't help feeling somewhat oppressed, and as though he's just in a rut, you know? I don't want someone's...."I'm so lost and lonely" love, you know? So I suppose I'm trying to ask if he's for real or if he's just doing it as a case of the valentine's day blues. I kind of feel that it's his way of telling me...but I just don't buy it, and I'm not even totally sure if I like him that way, as much as I may wish I could. Our Suggestion: Give him a chance. You will discover more about how he feels, and also how you feel. Keep it at a friendship level until you decide it is something more. Relationships have been built on less than what you have now.
