A forgettable offence

Visitor's Question:
I've just moved to a new place where I don't know anyone. I met a guy I really liked through my house mate. I got chatting to this guys friend as well and we exchanged numbers. We went out a few times but I don't fancy him, I've only ever seen it as friends.

I went out with them both at the weekend in a group and told the guys friend I just wanted to be mates. Later I found out they had an argument and got thrown out.

The guy I liked was really sweet all night and at the end of the night he text me and invited me to go over his. I decided I would but when the 2nd guy found out he got angry and they ended up having another argument in the street.

I still ended up going back to his. We stayed up watching a film and talking. I stayed over but nothing happened.

I really like this guy and my house mate has been dropping hints that he likes me but I am worried I have messed it up as I know it isn't right to get in between 2 friends but I really like him and surely I have the right to choose who I fancy, not just settle for the one that 'shotgunned' me 1st?

Have I crossed a line by what went on with me and his friend or can it ever be a forgettable offence?

Our Suggestion:
You not only have the right to choose who you fancy, but you also have the duty to do that.

You would be doing no one a favor by settling for someone when you liked someone else better.

No line was crossed and no offence should be taken by anyone.

Do what is good for you and you will be ok.

Good luck! George
