Is he stringing me along?!Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Firstly i want to thank you for this advice page you have given me good advice before that i was really happy with! :-) Okay onto my question. My boyfriend broke up with me a month and a day ago. (I had done nothing wrong it was all him apparently and he wasn't ready for a relationship.. scared of getting hurt again, he was insecure about something etc. something scared him which i never got to the bottom of) Anyway, we still talk about once a week and he is always nice to me making sure i am okay etc. He is always saying that he will show me his new bike and things like that but i don't know if he means it. (We havent seen eachother in over a month, only spoke over the phone, text, online etc.) When he broke up with me he said if he sorted his head out we might be able to get back together again. Also every time we talk he says "speak soon, yeah?" I worry that he's just making me hang on to boost his ego. However i only treat him like a friend now, i never acted desperate or clingy, i've given him his space. And we have both made an equal amount of contact towards eachother. I wrote to this advice page before asking if i should invite him to a party of mine, and i followed the advice and did, I text him the invite and he rang me straightaway being really nice and positive, he said he would try and make it but he was very busy and that he would let me know. He never let me know. The bottom line is i want to let go (however at the same time i want him back) but i don't know whether to let go or not. And frankly i am scared to ask him, because maybe of the reaction i will get. I don't want to loose him completely as a friend. What does this sound like to you? Our Suggestion: Keep him as a friend. That seems to be the level that he is at now. As long as he is a friend you have your options open. If you tire of wondering about him and want to let go then you can do so. If things perk up then you have that option. It seems a little early to let him go... give it another month. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
