Visitor's Question:
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years now, and I am completely in love. We're great together, the only problem, is that he joined the navy about a year ago, so we're now dealing with a long distance relationship.
He has finally been stationed on the same coast as me, and lives about an eight hour drive away. Just my luck, this girl he used to know back home has moved down there too. From what I can tell shes a nice girl, but i've only met her twice. They have been hanging out a lot lately, going to dinner, and just hanging out. When he comes home to visit it seems like he's trying to find time to see everyone else, that we don't get to do the things we used to, but he is now doing those things with this girl, like going out to dinner together. I want him to be happy, and I understand that its great that he has someone from home, but it just seems like its unfair. Should I confront him on how terrible this makes me feel? I feel incredibly insecure, but how do I avoid coming off like that to him?

Our Suggestion:
Yes, you are stuck in a bad situation and nobody could blame you for being upset.

If he is going to be there a reasonably long time, move to be with him.
If he is only there a short time, then don't worry about the girl.

Convince him to meet you half-way and spend some good alone time away from the distractions while you figure this out.

Good luck! George
