It's NOT an engagement ring! Suggest Advice Do you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I have purchased a ring for my girlfriend for christmas. It is a white-gold ring with a single medium-sized saphire in a traditional "claw" type setting. I have shown this ring to a few of my friends (mostly guys) and also to my dad. Everyone instantly assumed it was an engagement ring and I was going to "pop the question" this christmas. I have only thought of it as a nice romantic "happy christmas - I love you so much!" gift. How do I convince my friends and familly that it's not an engagement? Ok, now for a little bit of background on our relationship and current situation: I am 28, she is 25, we have been dating for nearly 10 months. Her father is strictly against us moving in together until AFTER we are married, but we are both in no rush to walk down the isle! My girlfriend is currently in hospital recovering from major surgery, which has had a few complications meaning her hospital stay is now double (and counting) what the speicalists first estimated. Any advice would be sincerely apreciated.
