I am a 22 yr old female.I am in love with a guy whom I know since my school days.I also know/knew that he loves me. both of us know that der is 90% chance of our parents not agreeing with with our marriage. But he says that he would try to convince his mom. Last evening he came to my place with some work. while going back he hugged me and kissed me on cheek. he was the first person to touch me. it was very unexpected. he also told me that hes not a virgin but i am. Now i really dont understand what should to do,though i realize that i am falling for him. should i continue or stop and be friends. Our Suggestion: In the American culture, family approval of a marriage is important. In other countries, which I think is true for you, family approval is even more important. Since this man is the first to touch you, you may be having stronger feelings than are justified. Is there no way you can find another man so you have some comparison? Ask this question of your parents and perhaps they might understand how you feel. Maybe they will have ideas. But be sure to tell them you are falling in love with him. You might want to wait and see how his mother reacts to the idea. If she is 100% opposed and refuses to budge, there may be no use in talking with your parents at all.
