Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Okay, so I liked this guy [let's call him EJ] for two years. He had a girlfriend last year, which I endured. It seemed like he flirted with me while he was with her. Then this summer, right before September, he broke up with her. Apparently she wasn't talking to him enough.

Now that we've all started at a new school, we've made lots of new friends. I'm more separated from my old friends since I'm in this advanced program. I have no classes with anyone from my old school. So I met one of my closest friends in PE.

She's really nice. She considered EJ her 'brother.' She used to shudder at the thought of them getting together. I have no idea if she only did that just because she knew I liked him or not. But anyway, she eventually got with him.

At first I was really heartbroken. It was so all of a sudden. That was the same day she told me she liked him. Everyone else knew. It was like she was hiding it for a very long time. We talked about this before.

Recently, I discovered that I liked this really nice guy [let's call him ReboundGuy]. I just hadn't really been paying attention to other guys when EJ was single. I'm not totally over EJ, but I'm almost there. ReboundGuy is the nicest guy I've ever met. [really] He can't say one mean thing to me [directly or indirectly] without saying sorry so many times that it turns out to be obnoxious. We keep friendly competition going between our homerooms &in algebra [ugh he's beating me by .9%!]

So, it's kinda obvious I don't like him just because I want to get over EJ. If I met ReboundGuy first, I'd probably be all over him instead. Anyhoo, he's always playing around with me. Sometimes when he walks by me &I don't notice, he walks by me again very dramatically. Since I'm usually reading a book, he goes "Hey, I've read that book!" One time I told him "Yeah, right.." since it was a book that only girls liked. So he said "Fine, if you don't believe me.." then walked away.

Then there was this other time when I guess someone was talking about GF's and they said "Who is it, [insert my name here]?!" Then he went to everyone in the whole class [except me] and repeated the conversation to them. When I overheard it I looked up and said "What?!" &then he said "That's what I said!"

So my question is, how can I keep this friend thing going on with ReboundGuy? I don't want him to feel awkward or anything. It's happened to me with EJ before. It's just really nice to be ReboundGuy's friend that's a girl &happens to like sports. But of course, if he ever asks, I'm probably gonna say yes.

Our Suggestion:
There's not much to say. Go after this rebound guy and become his girlfriend. He seems just right for you and you two will be happy together.

Forget about EJ because he is taken.
