Cancellation curse.Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I continue to find myself facing the same dilemma every few months. In the middle of last year I was spending a lot of time with a girl who seemed, from what I could tell, interested in me. I asked her if she would like to go bowling with me. She seemed glad to say yes. Shortly after this she canceled through a friend who assured me that she wasn't really interested in dating. Only recently I decided to ask a girl, who I have been spending lots of time cuddling with, if she would like to have dinner. She readily agreed, only to cancel two days before. I have since talked to her and found out that she also canceled because she didn't want to date me. As a matter of fact this has happened to me at least twice before these two times. I think it would be less stressful just to be turned down right away. How do I head this little problem off at the pass? What should I be doing to make sure any "yes" I get is sincere? Having never gotten the illusive "yes" in all my years of trying it is merely that much more devastating to get my hopes bashed after getting all worked up. Our Suggestion: This is not an easy problem to fix. My advice is to ask someone else out. When they say yes tell them that the last two women you asked out said yes but then called up later to cancel. Tell her you would rather hear it from her now if she thinks she will cancel. This will put some extra pressure on her to follow through. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
