Do you have some advice for this person?

when he broke up with me, he told me he did it because he couldn't give me enough time. a few weeks ago, i asked if there was any other reason. he said he broke up with me because he only liked me, and didn't think he could love me, especially after we broke up. he said he wanted to stay friends. i started moving on finally. but, then he's been having problems with work and has been real down and depressed. he keeps sending me texts when he's drunk, saying how lonely he is, and how he wants someone, but not jsust anyone, someone special.
i don't know if i should keep trying, because it seems like he's doubting his judgement of whether he could love me or not. or just call it a lost cause and move on to other people.



Our Suggestion:
This is not an easy thing to figure out.

He still seems to have something for you but it's not strong enough for you to stick with him.

My advice is to do what you said... call it a lost cause and move on to other people.
