Stuck in a Love TriangleSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I have recently become infatuated with my best guy friend. He used to like me a year ago, but I had a boyfriend at the time. Anyway, he is kind of a charming guy. He isn't a womanizer, but he flirts, or more correctly, playfully teases a lot of his close girl friends. He doesn't have an interest in any of them, and likewise with them. It's just something that he does, and it makes him a funny guy. I am one of the girls he teases, so it's hard to make him see that I'm not just teasing him back like usual, but I'm actually flirting. He likes a girl in our circle of friends who I know does no reciprocate the feeling. It's really hard to watch him practically worship her, however. He told me that he is trying to stop liking her, but I don't even know. I like him a lot, but he doesn't seem to have a clue that I do. Everyone thought he liked me because he always acts extra flirty around me. I feel like things may be different if he knew how I felt, but I don't want to risk it. I want him to want me on his own, and not because he can. So what I'm really asking is, how do I make him see that I'm interested? What can I do to turn his attention from this girl? I really don't want to tell him. I want to show him. I just don't know how. Thanks so much! Our Suggestion: For some reason you don't want to do the one thing that will make him turn his attention to you. And that is to tell him that you like him. Maybe you are afraid that he will reject you. But that is the risk you have to take. You have already done the obvious things like flirting but that isn't working. The best things in life happen when you take a chance. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
