Visitor's Question:
Over 25 years ago in 1984 when I was around 12 years old a girl that was 2 years younger than me had a huge crush on me. Her parents had told my parents that she really liked me, and both her parents and mine as well seemed very happy about that. My parents told me about this, and at the time being only 12 it really did not interest me. I blew it off so to speak, and never was really nice to her after finding this out. What do you expect from a 12 year old boy. She lived nearby, and we both went on to attend the same high school. After that I sort of lost track of her.We never were friends, but I know she had a huge huge crush on me. After all these years I have never forgotten about this, and on occasion I see her mother around, and she is always nice to me, always says hello. This girl's father passed away suddenly a few years ago. I am now 36 years old, and successful, she is now 34. I recently saw her, and much to my shock, she is a really beautiful woman. I did not speak to her, as this was from a distance. I dont know if she is married or not, however I never remember hearing anything about her being married. To get to the point, lately this has been on my mind.I realize now that I should have done something about this back then, because I always had a crush on her, but I never would let myself believe that I did. What are some suggestions to do here? Would it be proper to directly ask her mother how she is doing, and express to her that I always found it to be a really sweet thing that she liked me all those years ago. How could I connect with her? Do you think she remembers liking me? Any advice you could give would be appreciated. Thanks!

Our Suggestion:
You're 36 years old, you don't have to pass notes in study hall anymore to find out if someone likes you. ;) Get her number, call her, reminisce about old times - and if she's not married or involved with someone, ask her out. You'll have lots to talk about and probably have a good laugh about past crushes or experiences. Go for it! You don't need anyone's permission to ask a pretty girl out on a date. :)
