Confused.. Suggest Advice Do you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I have a friend I've known forever. He has Asperger Syndrome, so he likes cars, guns and history and mostly stays at home. He lives in another state but asked for my email address when we met up. Every 5 months he writes and apologizes for taking so long-'it was his computer time being used up.' I asked him if he just didn't want to be friends so he wrote a twenty line email about his computer and started apologizing for taking so long to write. Should I just give up trying to stay friends? K Our Suggestion: Absolutely do try to stay friends! If he has Aspergers' then it might be very hard for him to reach out socially, even to you and other people he is comfortable with. I would tell him not to worry about the excuses and that you care about the friendship no matter what. Even if long stretches of time pass by, it doesn't mean the friendship is on rocky ground or that he cares less about you.
