Statistics on Spouses CheatingSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I just want to know if there are any statistics availible and what they are for spouses that have cheated. If they have cheated once are the statistics different if they have cheated several times? Bottom line I want to know what the chances are that if my spouse cheated more then once how likely is he to do it again now that he has been caught? Can you please advise me in this matter? If we seek counceling what are the chances of our marriage surving this? Are there statistics avavilible on theses subjects? Our Suggestion: You are trying to turn a unique relationship into something you can quantify with numbers. Which is completely impossible. The statistics are also impossible to come by. You can never trust someone 100% to tell you the truth if they have cheated when they fill out a survey form :) I have basic stats here - http://www.romanceclass.com/miscr/LoveSCat/31 Anywhere from 12% to 33% or more of married people have cheated once. But what does that mean? Does it mean that they kissed someone when they were drunk at an office party? Does it mean they had a 10 year affair and went off with that person to Bermuda? There are all sorts of cheating types and what it means varies HUGELY from situation to situation. Only time and counselling can tell if YOU TWO can repair what was done in your PARTICULAR situation. Maybe he was cheating because he was unable to tell you what he really wanted and needed - and now that he learns how to do that, he won't ever need to cheat again. Most people don't cheat for "raw sex". Most people cheat because they want some attention, don't know how to ask for it, and seek it in an "easy way". --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
