In Love With my Best FriendSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I've fallen in love with my best friend, I've always loved her but now I want to be romantic with her as well. The problem is that she doesn't feel the same way about me. I have done my best to deal with this and have decided that I just want her to be happy no matter who that means she ends up with, but everytime I see or talk to her (just about everyday) the feelings come rushing back. I don't want to put her into a relationship with me by acting a certain way where she would be uncomfortable, but I can't help flirting whenever I'm with her. I also get the feeling that maybe certain other men have not asked her out because they think that we are going out, as we are almost always seen in public together. I don't want to ruin her chances for love with anyone else and I don't want to keep torturing myself by feeling this way about her but the only way to lose this feeling for her would be to stop seeing her at all, which would be terrible. How can I deal with her feelings torwards me while still remaining close friends that see each other on a consistent basis? Our Suggestion: The very best relationships are between great friends. It maybe that she is confusion the MTV style 'lust' with what real love is about. Instead of telling her "I am your romantic partner" - try taking it slow and SHOWING her that a real relationship is about two people who are best friends. Maybe she just needs to realize what is important in a relationship - and that being happy with someone is the key. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
