Getting Over an ExSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I was dating someone for about 5 months. He was my first everything. I gave him my virginity to him and he said he loved me. I don't know how to get over him. I have cried and tried to get angry, talked to all my friends and family. He has apparently gotten over me because I found out that he is seeing some other girl. I am not the type that rebounds. What is the healthiest way to get over him? Our Suggestion: I know it's really tough, but remember that just about ALL first relationships end in a breakup. The whole purpose of early dating is to help you learn about how to date, learn about relationships, learn what you like and don't like, learn what works and doesn't work. Those early relationships aren't really meant to last, any more than the crushes you had in 1st grade were meant to last. They are all to help you learn. So yes, you learned, and now you know more about things that can go wrong in relationships and how to avoid them. I have a lot of advice on recovering from a breakup here - http://www.romanceclass.com/miscr/LoveCat/54875 the key is to take your time and to find ways to be happy. In the end you should ALWAYS be happy with yourself, on your own. A guy should NOT be necessary to "make you happy". Once you are happy, you can choose to SHARE that happiness with a guy. But you need to be happy yourself first to make things work out well. So spend time with friends, do things you love to do, and take good care of yourself. You'll find soon that you're quite happy with who you are and what you are doing - and you'll find a guy who you are thrilled to share that time with. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
