She Envies MeSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: My friend thinks im competing with her all the time. It started when I got married one month before her. Then I had a baby before she did. Then all of a sudden, I bought a new car, then she did, she moved 2 blocks from me in a similiar house, she dyes her hair like me, she buys furniture just like mine - some exactly the same! Now, my husband and I are building a new house and she says im competing with her! There's nothing to compete with, it's silly. I think she's like a "single white female" and now she feels that I've moved to a level she can't catch up to with this new house. She totally cuts me off about it, and doesn't want to hear anything so I just keep to myself. How can I just shy away from her? I'm not a jealous or envious person and this makes me very uncomfortable. Our Suggestion: There are definitely people out there who cannot be happy, who spend their entire lives envying others. Which is really sad!! With the 50% of the planet that barely has a roof over their head and food on their plate, you would think us in houses would be THRILLED to be so incredibly lucky. We are living like the lords and ladies in medieval days. And yet she wants more. Maybe you can use this cult-like fascination she has with you to your advantage. Get into reading female-empowerment books, ones that talk about how to be your own person. Then talk to her about them and how fascinating they are. She will want to read them because you, her idol, reads them. And maybe she'll learn something. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
