Instant Messaging Mania Suggest Advice Do you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: i dont know why but im afraid to instant message the kid i like even though you guys said to keep talking to him. He is shy but i am afraid maybe this is his way of losing touch with me on purpose. his friend used to instant message me but stopped. the kid i liked talked to me for like 2 months online, again barely talking, then randomly stopped. he instant messaged me 2 weeks later and i instant messaged him a couple times after that but he would never to the same to me. im so confused i wish i knew what i should do. part of me just wants to wait for him to do the work, but the other part wants to see whats going on without bugging him or seeming too anxious (even though i am). Our Suggestion: Well, instant messaging can definitely be fun at first but can get intrusive after a while, if you're trying to do things and these messages keep popping up. It's a nice way to keep in touch with friends but it is no replacement for a real face to face talk! So if they're being worn down by the instant messages, ease off on them and concentrate on the face to face conversations.
