We're Obsessed With Each OtherSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: My girlfriend and I love each other very much, but when ever we are away from each other we become restless giants. We can't stay away from each other for more than a day at most. Is this healthy for a relationship? What is causing us to have these feelings for each other? Our Suggestion: It's normal to have a bit of obsession in early love. When you have a crush on someone, or when you are in the first stages of lust-love, all you can think about is the other person and you feel incomplete without them. However, mature love is about having a person be a PART of your life but not overwhelm your life. You need to have time on your own, you need to have time with your friends, you need to have time with your family. Your partner should be important, yes! But they should not be the ONLY thing in your life that is important. If you get to that stage, it really does become an obsession and obsessions are not things that last the years. It might be time to make sure you have a friend's night out. She should have a girl's night out, he should have a boy's night out. You should be able to spend a night apart where you both just take bubble baths or read a book or relax. It's great to care for each other. But it's bad to forget the other things in life that are also important. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
