Is the Child His? Suggest Advice Do you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I've met the man of my dreams, however, he may have already have a child with someone else. No one in his family thinks that the child is his, and neither do I, however, he won't question it. The child is 9 months old and the mother won't let him see it at all. Matter of fact, she was married to her ex only 5 months ago. All the signs point to this NOT being his child but I want to be sure before I spend the rest of my life with him. It won't change how I feel or whether I continue to be with him but for his peice of mind and mine, how can I bring up such a sensitive subject and convince him that it is definitely questionable whether this child is really his? Our Suggestion: DNA tests are cheap and easy. You just swab a cheek and know. Tell him that for the child's health records the parents NEED to know who the father is, to check for genetic disease history and so on. It's one of those things that can REALLY help when they are doing medical checkups, so don't let him put it off.
