Fear of Marriage or ResponisibilitySuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I don't know what to do. My best friend and I have dated for about a year. He is single, never married, and I am a divorced mother of 1. He likes my son, but the thought of us getting married and having to be "responsible" for my son scares him. He is 26, I will be 25 in August. We do care about each other dearly. We have made out several times but have been careful not to go too far. We are deep rooted Christians who both have been raised by Christian parents. We had mutual friends growing up but never knew each other until last year. We went to different high schools in the same town and attended the same prom and graduated the same year. I had neighbors and friends who invited me to his church, but something always came up, and I wasn't able to go. I know God has a reason for us meeting when we did. We are very compatible and have ALOT in common. We are inseparable. But we have decided to take some time away from each other (just a few days, 2 or 3 or 4) to focus on us and pray about what God wants for our lives. I myself am quite confused, he feels like it will be a few years before he gets married, just because there are things that he wants to accomplish before getting married, and he has also told me that he knows what he "wants" and needs to think about us and the responsiblility of adopting my son, if it would be that he married me. What do you make of all of this? I'm confused, and I get my feelings hurt easily. He just seems like the perfect one for me. Our Suggestion: If you "know God has a reason for us meeting when we did" but that he needs some time, then give him time. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
