Visitor's Question: My first love and I broke up in 1997 because he was too involved in school activities and didn't put a lot into our relationship. We have remained good friends and talk to each other every few months. I moved to GA from NY. He's still in NY. Our last conversation was 2 weeks ago and he shared with me that he wants to get married, have children and if he could do it tomorrow, he would. It's funny because I want those same things and I haven't found anyone who wants them now, like I do.I have always loved him and he always said that if it's meant to be we'll be together. I'm wondering if now is our chance. He just started to date someone he dated before and I have been dating someone since last June, but it's not going anywhere right now, this person has been burned before and is really cautious. I've been thinking a lot about my ex and to me the only thing keeping us apart is that I live in GA and he's in NY. I'm actually willing to move back if I knew how he felt about me and a future with me. I am going to NY for vacation and will see my ex. Should I let him know how I feel? And if so, how do I go about it? Our Suggestion: You should definately let him know how you feel. When you tell him, don't just say, "Hi. I want to marry you and I'll move up her and dump my significant other, if you do the same." You may want to lead up to it, by asking him how he's doing, how much y ou missed him and then throw in, "ever thing about us? I do. I really want the same things you do and maybe the time is right.
