He's Visiting my Small HouseSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I have been going out with this kid for a year and two months. It's close to the holidays and my mom wants him to come over, but I dont think I feel comfotable with him coming over because I have been to his house before and it is really big. I live in a rancher where we get no privacy and I don't know I just dont feel comfortable even though I really want him to come over. I know you are probably going to be like well you two have been going out for a long time and if you really love eachother this won't matter, believe me everyone has said that to me but it doen't get this uncomfortable feeling out of my head. What do I do or think so I will feel comfortable? Our Suggestion: There is ALWAYS a difference in houses. One is always bigger or smaller or dirtier or more elegant or whatever. He doesn't care about the HOUSE. He cares about YOU. Think of all of the romance stories where the guy comes in and 'rescues' the girl out of her quiet life! If anything, your smaller home will build up that whole fantasy in his head, that he is helping you stretch beyond your origins and see new and interesting things. So you don't have to be embarassed at all. You had an interesting life before, but now your boyfriend has made it so much MORE interesting! Remember, he cares about YOU and things relating to you and how you grew up are going to fascinate him. Show him the toys you played with when you were little. The books you read. I bet he will love that whole "I was a little girl once" talk, to imagine a little you dreaming of having a boyfriend one day. Sure, it's a small house, it's a cozy place that served you well as you grew up. He's going to *relish* that. In many ways, it's so much better to go to a small house and see all those intimate details of what made you YOU. Having a boyfriend is all about sharing your heart and soul, the "what I really am" with him. So this is the perfect time. You need to be able to say, "This is me, the REAL me" and he will embrace you and love you for being you. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
