Do you think I've given enough signals to her that I like her?Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I met this girl at an artistic production several months back. This production lasted 3 months, and has been over for about 2 months now. We were in the same act together, so we started talking about mid-way through, joking around a bit. After the production ended, she started emailing me about every day for two weeks, just the "hey, how's everything, just wanted to say hi" sort of emails. Right now, she'll email me about once a week or so, and I'll reply, and I'll send her an email. I haven't asked her out yet, I've asked if she wanted to "do something" twice, and she accepted both times, saying she would "love to do something" and a few days afterwards, she would email me and say "just wanted to let you know that I had a really good time we got together....we should do it again soon." We saw a movie, I offered to pay for dinner, took a walk by the river. Again, I never officially asked her out. She's a teacher, and stress levels are high, and she has some issues at home now. I had asked her to do something for the third time a week or so ago, she said she might be able to, but I never heard from her. I was a little upset, and when I emailed her, she said she didn't think she needed to cancel because we never made definite plans. At the end of my somewhat heated email, I said, "so, would you like to go out this Saturday." She responded that although she would like to, there is just too much going on for right now. It would have to wait until school ended. I don't know if this girl likes me or not. Why doesn't she email me as frequently as when our production ended? She hasn't asked me to do something, but always has accepted, and then few days afterwards, says that she had a really fun time. Our outings haven't been touchy-feely as far as those signals are concerned. I initiated hugs on both occasions when I left her place. But she emails me like once a week or so, says "just wishing you a Happy Monday", and "talk to you again soon." I sent her an e-card recently that said "just thinking of you and hope everything goes well....". I was going to ask her out, but need to postpone because of these issues at home. I guess what I'm asking is, I just don't know if what I've described is indication that she likes me. Would a friend say the stuff she has "just wanted to let you know I had a really good time last time....". I don't know. I emailed her on Friday, and she responded, and said "have a nice weekend" Why didn't she say "call me this weekend." If she liked me, why not emails once a week? I don't know what to do at this point. Should I be very concered that our past two outtings have not been touchy-feely? Do you think I've given enough signals to her that I like her? I hope I've provided enough details. Thanks for any help you can provide. Jason Our Suggestion: You have a great time with her, she tells you that she has a great time with you, she emails for silly reasons, she tells you that she enjoys your company, and you wonder if she likes you? YES. It's the end of the year and she's a teacher. Cut her some slack ... it's very stressful for her right now with all sorts of added duties and responsibilities that she needs to pick up on. She has other things she needs to pay attention to, and when she gets a chance, she'll be back to dating you. Keep emailing her and keep the contact up, and perhaps send her flowers with "hang in there!" for a message. Let her know that you know she's overwhelmed right now and that you'll still be around when she has time again. Good luck with this, I see it as all working out right in the end. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
