I have severe depression and tried to committ suicide a few days agoSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I have severe depression and tried to committ suicide a few days ago. My boyfriend got scared and he told me he couldn't see me anymore. How do I make him understand I made a mistake and I really want to be with him. He just doesn't understand my situation. Our Suggestion: First off, I'm very glad you didn't succeed at killing yourself!! !!! Every person is valuable in the world and can make a difference to those closest to them. Your boyfriend would have been traumatized for life if you had gone through with it. And you would have missed out on all the good parts in life, and would have sacrificed all the love and excitement that is waiting for you. I'm hoping that you have a counsellor working with you to get through your issues. It's normal that your boyfriend is all freaked out after this. I'm sorry that he's pulled away from you at a time when you clearly needed his support. But some people react badly to stress, and this is one of those times. He will come around again when the shock wears off. You just have to be patient and remind him again and again that you're not at that breaking point and that you've learned there are reasons for staying alive (I hope that you have, anyhow). You can point out that you really need his support and love right now and that he's hurting you more by pulling away. But you can't change him and if he really doesn't want to be with you then he wasn't much of a boyfriend to begin with. I wish you the best, Jenn --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
