we were engaged to be marriedSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I've been seening my girlfriend for about a year now we where engaged to be married. a week ago today we got into an argument about her 3 kids my being immature and sarcastic. i really want it to work out. In the begining we had lots of time together we also work at the same place too. this year we argue alot then make up and its really hard on here. when we see each other in the begining she was finalizing her divorce. what do i do to make it work i've been very depressed about it i tried to talk to her but she says she want her space. i've talked to friends of hers and mine at work because it hurts to keep it bottled up inside. any suggestions? shes 29. Our Suggestion: It sounds like there are a number of issues being played out here, what with her divorce and the kids and working together. This is a recipe for difficult times. It's good that you are looking to talk about it and solve the problems that you two face. I suggest fairly strongly that you get into counselling and perhaps bring the kids to family counselling. This will give you a neutral ground to work out all the issues and make a solid foundation for your relationship. You need to find ways of working out the problems without fighting. Focus on what's best for the relationship, not what one or the other wants. It'll take a lot of compromising and teamwork to make it all peaceful.
