Breaking Up is Hard To DoSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I have been with my girlfriend for 7 months.Right now I am spending the summer with my uncle in Colorado and she is in Texas.Well,I have found that the strong feelings I once had for this girl is now gone and I dont want to hurt her to much by saying that I dont love her any more. She just lost her grandfather and is having a hard time. What is the best way that I could break up with her with causing the least amount of pain? Our Suggestion: First, feelings ALWAYS fade over time. It's how life works. If that new-rush of fresh love was always burning in us, we would burn out. There are stages relationships go through and that hot-rush is only the very first stage. So don't be quick to write off the relationship just because it is mellowing. That is a normal part of life. That being said if you really and truly want to end things, I have a ton of advice on the site on how to gently break up. If at ALL possible do it in person. You owe it to a person you are dating to tell them in person that it is ending and to talk about it. If it really and truly cannot be done in person than the phone is next best so at least the voice is there. --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
