Visitor's Question: I'm afraid of rejection. i like a girl and she likes me but she has a boyfriend she wont break up with him. i also like someone eles a little. i used to be good friends with her and i dated her in like 7th grade so it was nothing really. im in 10th grade now but i havent talked to her for a really long time. it would be easy to talk to her again but i dont know if she would have any interest in me cause i think she likes older guys. so i =m afraid to ask her out or make a move becuase im afraid of rejection. what can i do to become unafraid and is there anything wrong with rejection. also i think i know why im afraid of it but im not exactly sure. can you help me out here too? thanks Our Suggestion: Everyone is afraid of rejection. It's a normal reaction in life. No one wants someone to tell them No, it's a crushing blow. The trick is to become like a duck and let it roll off your back like water and not let it bother you. Forget about the girl with a boyfriend. That is a sure place for rejection, and you don't need to get in a mess like that. Focus on this other girl you like. Get to know her again. Get to be her friend and hang out with her just as friends. Then see about taking it to the next level if you both feel it's right.
