Not sure how ex feelsSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I'm trying to figure out what I should do about my exboyfriend. We broke up almost 7 years ago and before our break up we dated almost 5 years. I believe that my ex is my soul mate. We had a terrific relationship. He had given me a promise ring and he had an engagment ring to give me, but broke up with me right after he got it saying that we needed to date other people before we got married, to make sure it was meant to be. After we broke up he decided we couldn't be friends anymore and I started dating someone else, but I could never clear my mind of him. About 2 years ago, he told his mom he wanted me to email him, so I did and we started talking thru email and on the phone. Then we lost touch for a while. Once though I was visiting his mother while he was at school and in his room he had on a shelf my promise ring, the engagement ring and numerous necklaces and other gifts he had given me that I returned when we broke up, neatly displayed, so it kind of left me wondering. About a month ago, we ran into eachother on IM and we talk close to everyday. During on of our conversations, he stated: "Did you realize I haven't dated anyone seriously since we broke up?" with the exception of one girl for a month. And we talked about being single and how friends seem to tell us we need to get out and start looking to date. Then my ex said something like as much as I've been fighting it I think your friends are right and mine are too. Anyway, to make a long story short, I am having trouble reading wether he is talking about us being together or just talking in general. And I am trying to figure out what I should do to get a relationship back with him...I believe he is ment to be the one for me. But I am also scared that if I say something and he is not interested I risk losing his friendship again, and that would also be very hard on me, because before we started dating we were very close friends and after we broke up I lost his friendship for a long time. What kind of advice can you give me for my dilema? Our Suggestion: My advice is to simply tell him that you would like to try dating again and see where it leads. I don't see how he would cut off your friendship for saying something like that. First tell him how important his friendship is and that you would not want to do anything to jeopardize it. Then tell him about the dating idea. I hope it works out for you. Best wishes, George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
