Didn't get invited to danceSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Hello Experts! My girlfriend and I have been dating on and off for 2years now. She is a senior in High School while I am off working and attending college. Homecoming dance is coming up and she is going with her best girlfriend and is deciding to take her brother and a family friend who she has known for a long time. This really bothers me. When she first told me, my initial reaction was jealousy. I told her straight out that this bothered me and hurt my feelings. She said it was because if she brought me she didn't want to leave me alone and run off with her friends and dance. She thought I would be alone in other words. Now honestly It's not that I want to go all that bad, it's just that she never asked me to go with her after I took her to my senior homecoming and prom dances. Now she is going in a group of four: Her, her brother, her best friend (female), and her family friend (male). And what bothers me is that her date is the family friend, not her brother, (both of them are 21). This family friend I don't particularly like, but what I hate even more is that she is taking this guy rather than her boyfriend of 2 years. I understand she wants to have a good time and not feel pressured to entertain me, but I can't get around this. And I don't want to bring it up again because it makes me look and sound insecure. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you... Our Suggestion: You don't want to bring it up with her again and you don't really care if you go to the dance or not. But you are resentful that she didn't ask you. I agree with you that she should have asked you. Not much that can be done about it now. Sorry it happened.
