I like this cute boy ...Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Theres this boy that I like. But the thing is I don't know him and I haven't talked to him either. He's in my homeroom and for some reason I like him. My friend has gym with him and she said he said I was cute but I guess I don't believe her. His friend is in one of my classes and he said he would talk to him for me. At first I thought maybe I just liked him because I didn't have a boyfriend but thats not the case. When he goes by me in the hallway I get all nervous. What do I do? And why do I like him when I don't really know him? Our Suggestion: You like him based on the way he seems, which is pretty common. Your brain has had years and years to make all sorts of connections. So it could be that he looks and/or acts just like some favorite character you got to love on TV, or in a movie or even in a book. So you sort of transfer all those fond feelings onto him and hope he'll be similar. Definitely don't rely on friends to pass information to or from him. That causes a TON of trouble. Instead, find out for yourself what he's like. Smile and say hi when you pass him in the halls. Don't attack him with lots of questions, but get to be a 'friendly' person in his world - not one that he really knows, but one that he recognizes and maybe smiles back at. Once you're at the point that you're saying hi to each other, find some casual question to ask him. Ask him about something that was said in homeroom, or about a class he has. Again, you're getting him used to talking to him. So it doesn't have to be a long conversation, you can just say "ok, thanks" when he answers and go along. The next time you see him, have another short question, or that you like his shirt or something like that.
