Visitor's Question: ok me and my boyfriend fight like its an addiction. i try talking to him in a nice manner but everything blows up in my face.we've been together for almost a year and things seem to be getting worse.every time i try to say something to him about our problems all he has to say is i dont care or we will talk about it later(which never really happens)i want to fix stuff but i mean if he doesnt care should i bother. i imagine us spending the rest of our lives together but if we cant overcome stupid stuff then whats the point. i guess that is easier said than done.i am so wrapped up in him and i want to be with him forever b/c he can be really great but when it comes to making something that is wrong right again then well he sucks. i feel like i have tried everything there is out there and i dont know how to get to him to make him understand that everything is getting worse by not trying to fix stuff. i mean it just gets 20 times worse when he doesnt talk to me and says he doesnt care and stuff. i really dont know what to do about it!!please help! Our Suggestion: This is an example of why relationships don't work out when a couple is unable to communicate. He is almost certainly going to ruin your relationship by refusing to talk about things. Tell him that one of the most important aspects of a good relationship is the ability to communicate honestly about whatever is bugging the other person. If he is still unwilling to talk things over, my advice is to either get counseling or for you to move on. Sorry to be so negative, but it is almost impossible for a relationship to work without certain elemenets-- one of which is good communications. Maybe he would be willing to set aside one hour a week to communicating. Let him choose the topics if he wants. Hopefully with some practise he will grow to enjoy it.
