Visitor's Question: my boyfriend has been friends with this girl since the 10th grade. he thinks she is pretty and they just recently starting talking to each other on the phone. i got really jealous and upset and told him i didn't trust him anymore. now when i try to talk to him on the phone he seems real short and distant with me, and i have to call him all the time because he won't call me anymore. i don't know what to do, we have been together for 2 years and i am so in love with him if i were to leave i would miss him deeply. i just feel like he doesn't love me anymore and just doesn't want to be with me. how can i make this better? Our Suggestion: Maybe he likes this old friend more than you know, or maybe you hurt him by what you said to him. Have an old-fashioned honest conversation with him and try to get to the bottom of this. Try to control your jealousy using this trick: whenever you have a jealous feeling just say to yourself "he is my boyfriend and he loves me." Do it often enough and the jealous feelings will give up.
