No butterflies but awkwardness Suggest Advice Do you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I am confused! Okay i'm in grd 11, and i've known this guy since grd 8, he was in my class in grd 8+9 but in grd 10+11 he hasn't been. He sort of caught my eye towards the end of grd 8 when a friend pointed him out to me. You could say i like him, but the way i like him is very different to the way i've liked my other crushes and thats what confuses me. With the others i would get butterflies and a stupid smile and the usual symptoms, but with this guy, i still think of him a lot and i always want to be near him (like at breaks for example) and i'm always looking out for him, but theres no butterflies and no stupid smile. (Sometimes there is though). I doubt this is just a case of i'm just less fond of him than the others because i think of him just as much. I do like him a lot, i just can't understand why i like him differently. Another thing is, he is really goergeous and although i can be very sociable, it's very hard for me to talk to him because i get so nervous, i start stuttering and i go blank! It's really sad i know! And theres this awkwardness aswell because in grd 9 he found out that me + my friend liked him (She doesn't anymore though). I think he still that i like him, but i can't understand why it's awkward. Maybe he doesn't want me to like him i don't know! He's a really sweet guy, but he acts different around his friends and a lot of other girls like him aswell. How could i win him over?? Pls help! Our Suggestion: Sounds like you are doing pretty well on your own. No butterflies? Don't judge a relationship on that. You have known him a long time so perhaps that cured the butterflies. Feeling awkward is perfectly normal. It just takes time and energy to get over that stage. Make sure you have plenty of things to talk about. And when he says something make sure you follow up on it asking questions. Stick with it and I hope good things happen for you!
