Disabled and In LoveSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I WAS IN A CAR WRECK ABOUT 19 MONTHS AGO AND NOW I'M CONFINED TO A WHEELCHAIR. HERE IS MY PROBLEM I HAVE THIS FRIEND THAT HAS GONE OUT OF HER WAY TO SHOW ME WHAT FRIENDSHIP IS, I FELL IN LOVE AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO TELL HER. Our Suggestion: Believe me, millions of disabled people are in love, are married, lead quite healthy, normal lives. Yes, you're in a wheelchair. But you're still a human being, and you deserve love! So really, you're in the same normal situation that all friends-wanting-to-be-a-couple are in. You're at that nervous stage where you want to show you care, but are afraid of disturbing the friendship. I have a lot of advice about that on my site. But in essence, all great relationships ARE based on friendship. Stormy romance and lust may sound great in books, but a true friendship is what soulmates are made of. So you guys have a fantastic start! Try sliding into the new roles. Take her to dinner. Or make her a romantic dinner with candles, to show your appreciation. Or order in something like Chinese and eat it with Champagne and candles. It doesn't have to be a "sign of love" at first, it can be just to show you really care. Give her a small present, handmade is great. If she feels uncomfortable at some point, she'll let you know, and it won't harm the friendship really because it was just a gentle slide past her comfort line. If she does enjoy it, then you've found a great partner for life :) --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
