Half an hour apart causes troubleSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I am a 19 year old college freshman and i am dating a 17 year old high school junior for a little over a year. sadly we live at least a half hour apart, neither of us have a car to use all the time. so we see each other 2-3 weekends a month. latly she feals that the long distance stress as well as the "adult" demands that i put on her and she puts on her self have ben taking a toll on her. we do love each other, and we feel that we could have something here if we keep building on or love. but i just want her to be happy and i dont want to put undo stress on her , but i feel that seperating is not the answer. what can i do to keep her stress down and our relationship together? are we doomed beacuse of our age? is the long distance distroying us? what can i do? -a 19 y/o boy in need of help p.s. she has little to no support at home in anything, her parents drink to much and she tells me that my family is closer to her than her own. Our Suggestion: The age difference is not a problem. The separation may be a problem. Is she complaining in the context that you are seeing too much of each other? If so, then cut back on your visits. If not, then call her on the phone more often. She is probably feeling the stress of school and her homelife too. Just be there for her whenever she needs to talk things over. A friendly ear is probably what she needs most now. Try to convince her that breaking up is going to leave her without a best friend as well as a boyfriend. Best wishes, George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
