Do you think he'll ask me out again soon, and realize that we're meant to be?Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: My boyfriend broke up with me April 12th after having having second thoughts for a week or so. We had been going out for 4 months, and we both loved eachother very much. His reason for breaking up with me was because he hadn't made any new friends while we were going out. He says that it's not my fault, it was just that we were too comitted, which is true, but I didn't mind it. He said eventually he would also like to date other girls, and that he couldn't just stay with one person forever and that it seemed almost impossible at this age (we're 16). He also said he was getting an internship from school this summer so he'd be working most of it and would be very busy. He still wants to be friends with me, and he even told me that he still loves me but us going back out is "out of reach for now." I'm really hurt by this because I miss being with him as his girl friend. We hang out still, and when we do, it's like we are always physically close and we almost kiss eachother. We have kissed a few times since the break up but I decided that's not at all healthy. I'm not sure what to do. I want him back, and I feel like there is no way to get him back. I just feel like we're perfect for eachother, and I'm having a hard time getting over this. At the same time, it would be so hard for me to cut all contact from him. It's weird how he still loves me yet he won't go out with me. Do you think he'll ask me out again soon, and realize that we're meant to be? Any adivice would be helpful. Thank you. Our Suggestion: Tell him that even though you are 16, you can have a relationship that lasts longer than 4 months. Take advantage of his friendliness with you and keep kissing him. He will soon be drawn back to you. Try to make more friends with him together so he doesn't worry about not making new friends. In the long run, he is probably right that your relationship won't last forever, but it should last until you can break up with mutual respect.
