Visitor's Question: I started seeing this older guy at university at the beggining of march, however he lives in manitoba and i live in alberta, so when school was done i had to go home for the summer. so in 2 months we got pretty serious, and things seemed absolutly great when i left, but thats when the trouble started. I'm really not good with phones, so i waited and called him about a week after i got home, and then the next week, and the week after, and each time it was really hard to get ahold of him. the next week no one answered, and the same after that. so after 3 weeks of not hearing from him i wrote him a short letter just to say hey, and ask whats going on, and its been 2 weeks since then and i havent got a call, an e-mail, or anything from him. I am going back to visit him and some other school freinds in 2 weeks, and am just wondering what i should do, should i just forget about him, try to see him anyway, try to call him yet again, or what? Our Suggestion: Clearly he is not the communicative type. Or perhaps this is his way of saying goodbye to you without saying it. In either case it is unfortunate he cannot be caring enough to contact you. When you see him, tell him straightforwardly that you are not the kind of person who can tolerate unresponsive friends and that if he is unwilling to get back to you then you will have to call it quits. This should get the message to him in a flash. In fact, you might want to write him an email saying it before you see him. That will give him a chance to dig himself out of the hole he is in and perhaps pave the way to a pleasant get-to-gether. I hope this works out for you!
