I have got into £25,000 worth of debt over the last 5 years paying off his billsSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Hi Not sure how to explain myself in a few short paragraphs but I'll give it a go. My partner and I have been together just over 6 years, we have lived together for 5 of those years and have a 5 year old daughter together. The trouble is, I have been feeling very irritated by everything he does recently, he has only had a job for the last 12 months, he'd never worked before and I have got into £25,000 worth of debt over the last 5 years paying off his bills and helping him out. He doesn't pay anything towards household bills but he has really been making an effort latelty by working and giving me money and being nice to be around at home, I just cant bear to be aro0und him and I feel so horrible becuase he's reallyt trying to make a go of it and its not really bad between us or anything I'm just not sure I want to be with him any mnore, should I stay for my daughters sake do you think? He doesn't do anything for me that I couldn't get elsewhere if I wanted! I feel so confused and to make matters worse, a guy that I met recently who I have been getting on so well with (nothings happened) has told me he really likes me and thinks I should 'get out while I can'. Help!! Our Suggestion: You explained it very well. Your partner has run you into debt, and in any case you have grown tired of him. Meanwhile there is a man snaking his way into your heart at work. Have you considered counseling? Perhaps you are having the seven year itch a little early. If nothing else, by going to a counselor you can always say you gave it a try. So that is my advice. If you do split up, your current partner should continue to pay at least a token amount towards the debts he caused you to amass. Good luck, George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
