I had no male role models and at age 5 believed all men were scumSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I have been with my boyfriend for a short period of time but all in all I care about him deeply although we are both young and we talk about marriage and a life together we both agree we want to take things slow super slow I call it to make a long story as short as I can, my boyfriend is a sweet heart he says all the right things at the right times and he has a very forgiving heart I say things for meaness sometimes because of nothing I grew up around unhealthy relationships and fighting was an everyday thing I had no male role models and at age 5 believed all men were scum now there is a man who doesnt fit into that category he is so nice i find myself pushing him away just so I can say I knew he would leave I don't know what to do I want to change I just dont know where to begin I am on bended knees and I am asking for anything you think could help me I would be more than thankful Our Suggestion: Since he is so understanding, just tell him the truth. Tell him just what you told me and he will get the picture. To change yourself, ask for his assistance. Whenever you become argumentative with him or abusive he should point it out in a gentle and loving way. Or say something like "At least I'm not Frankenstein." At the beginning you will hear him say it a lot and you will train yourself to think before you speak and speak lovingly. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
